About Us
For the Love of Cycling
Co-Founder Matt Gontier is an avid cyclist and invented the Shield and the Stand as a solution to his own problem.
I love cycling so why stop during the cooler months? I tried every winter cycling glove but my fingertips would still get numbingly cold, forcing me to stop my ride short. I invented the Shield to protect my hands from the wind. My first prototype was made with plastic from a Milk Jug! I was so focused on finding a solution to this problem. I've personally road tested the Shield over and over again until it was perfected and am proud to share it with you. I hope you’ll try the Shield and join me in riding year round.
I am constantly inspired during my rides and wanted a solution for propping up my bike against the incredible backgrounds my ride took me to. I was tired of using a stick, a rock, a wall or a guardrail and ruining my photo. I invented the Bici stand which is an invisible and portable bike stand that allows you to take a picture of your bike from any angle.
Matt Gontier and his wife Veronica Gontier co-founded Bici as a family business with the purpose of inventing products that they are proud to make in their hometown of New York City for cyclists around the world. As a cyclist and Ford fashion model partnered with a Retail and Lifestyle brand Marketing Executive, the couple have high standards for Design, Innovation, and Performance.
We started Bici for the love of cycling and want to continue to invent great products for the global cycling community.
